Clifford Pond writes out of a lifetime of pastoral ministry, having served churches in Suffolk and Surrey as well as exercising a wider ministry at various times by responsible leadership in young people's fellowship, associations of churches and the council of Grace Baptist Mission.

Now in retirement, Clifford writes in a warm friendly style which well reflects the personal nature of the experiences that he had gained over the years, in which he has helped churches to develop in New Testament maturity.

He has not shirked difficult aspects of the establishment of elderships in churches, but has sought to offer a careful and balanced discussion of them for the help of 'ordinary believers'.
